Sandeep Lamichhane / Former captain of Nepal cricket team found guilty of raping a minor

Sandeep Lamichhane: A bad news has come out for the Nepal cricket team in which the Kathmandu District Court has given a big verdict in the rape case of a minor girl against their former captain and brilliant leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane. The court has declared Sandeep guilty in this case, after which his cricket career also seems to be in danger. When this allegation was leveled against Sandeep, he was also the captain of the team, but later the Nepal Cricket Board took a big decision and took back this responsibility from him.

The decision on punishment will be given in the next hearing

The single bench of Kathmandu District Court had completed the hearing in Sandeep Lamichhane's case on 24 December, after which the verdict was pronounced on 29 December. After Sandeep is found guilty, the decision on how many years of imprisonment will be given will be given in the next hearing. Lamichhane is currently out on bail in this case. Talking about this matter, on August 21, a case of rape of a 17 year old minor girl was registered against Sandeep. After this allegation, Sandeep was arrested by the police but later the Patan High Court ordered his release on a bail of Rs 20 lakh. Lamichhane was also given permission to participate in foreign leagues.

Was a part of Delhi Capitals team in IPL

If we talk about Sandeep Lamichhane's cricket career so far, he has played 51 ODI and 52 T20 matches in the international format, in which he has taken 112 wickets in ODI and 98 wickets in T20. Apart from this, Sandeep has also played in the Indian Premier League in which he was a part of the Delhi Capitals team in the IPL season played in the years 2018 and 2019, during which he got a chance to play in 9 matches in which he took 13 wickets.
