New Delhi. The Union Health Ministry said on Sunday that the rate of virus infection in the country has come down to 11.34 percent. In the last 24 hours, there have been 2,40,842 cases in the country, which is the lowest number of cases reported in a day after 17 April. It is believed that the cases of infection have come down due to the decision by the states to impose lockdown. In the same sequence, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday decided to pursue the lockdown till May 31 in the capital. Apart from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have also extended the lockdown for the next week.

Know which states increased lockdown

Delhi

Chief Minister Kejriwal said that the ongoing lockdown in Delhi will continue next week as well. If there is a decrease in infection in the coming days, then the process of unlocking will start in a phased manner in the state from 31 May.

Uttar Pradesh

Curfew-like restrictions will continue throughout the state till May 31 in UP. However immunization, industrial activity and other essential services are exempted from restrictions.

Kerala

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has extended the applicable lockdown in the state for the next one week. However, this time the rules have been made more stringent. The e-commerce service will now run only from 8 am to 6 pm. On the other hand, triple lockdown will continue in Mallapuram district, but in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Thrissur, strictness has been reduced.

Tamil Nadu

Chief Minister MK Stalin has extended the lockdown ending May 24 for the next one week. E-commerce service in Tamil Nadu will be active from 8 am to 6 pm. The Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department will distribute fruits and vegetables to the people.

Gujarat

According to the announcement of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, the night curfew will continue till May 28 in 36 cities of the state, which will be effective from 8 am to 6 am. During this time, supply and sale of all essential goods will continue.

Maharashtra

According to the guidelines issued by the Uddhav Thackeray government of the state, the lockdown like restrictions will continue in the state till June 1. RT-PCR negative report is mandatory for people coming from other states.

Haryana

The lockdown in Delhi adjacent to Delhi has been extended till 31 May. However standalone shops have been allowed to open during the day. Other shops have been allowed to open from 7 am to 12 noon on aud and even basis. However, shopping malls in Haryana will remain closed till the morning of 31 May.

Jharkhand

The state will continue with partial lockdown till May 27. However, the government has announced some new restrictions. The operation of buses in or outside the state has been stopped. Permission has to be obtained from the district administration for the operation of private trains.

Chhattisgarh

The lockdown will continue till May 31 in the state. These rules will be effective until further orders.

Karnataka

The state government has extended the lockdown till 7 June. Chief Minister Yeddyurappa said that there will be no change in the existing rules and the lockdown applicable from April 27 will continue.

Jammu and Kashmir

Corona curfew has been extended till May 31 in the state. Essential services are exempted.

Goa

State Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Friday that curfew-like restrictions would continue in the state till May 31. During this time no more than 5 or five people will be allowed to gather

Rajasthan

The lockdown in Rajasthan has been extended till 8 June. The wedding ceremonies have been postponed till 30 June. As per the new guideline, markets will be closed from Friday 28 May from 12:00 noon to Tuesday 1 June from 5:00 am and Friday 4 June from 12:00 pm to Tuesday 8 June 5:00 pm except for essential services. The penalty for not applying face masks in public places has been increased from 500 to 1000.
