Gorakhpur Woman Files Case Against Husband Over Lack Of Physical Relations

A woman in Gorakhpur has filed a police complaint against her husband and four in-laws, alleging that her husband never established physical relations in four years of marriage and the family demanded 5 lakh rupees for his treatment.

In a significant legal development from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, a woman has approached the Gorakhnath police station to file a formal complaint against her husband and four other members of his family. The complainant has leveled serious allegations, claiming that despite being married for nearly four years, her husband has never established physical relations with her. This case has brought to light a complex dispute involving allegations of medical issues, financial extortion, and domestic harassment within the matrimonial home.

Details of the Marriage and Initial Harassment

The woman shared that her marriage took place on 19 November 2021 with a young man residing in the Mahanagar area of Lucknow. She highlighted that her family had spent a significant amount of money, totaling 15 lakh rupees, on the wedding ceremonies and related expenses. However, she alleges that the atmosphere in her matrimonial home turned hostile shortly after the wedding. She claims that she was subjected to mental harassment by her in-laws almost from the beginning of her stay in Lucknow. The victim further alleged that she was deprived of even the most basic necessities at her in-laws house. The lack of support and the growing mental pressure made her daily life increasingly difficult. Despite the substantial expenditure of 15 lakh rupees by her family, she found herself in a situation where her needs were ignored and her dignity was compromised.

Allegations Regarding Physical Relations and Medical Tests

One of the most significant aspects of the complaint is the allegation that the husband never established physical relations with her. The woman stated that whenever she attempted to discuss this matter or sought intimacy, her husband would distance himself by making excuses about ongoing medical treatments. He reportedly claimed that he was on medication which prevented him from having a physical relationship. Seeking a resolution and clarity on his health status, the woman attempted to take her husband to a doctor for a sperm test. However, she alleges that the husband flatly refused to provide a sample for the test, further deepening her suspicions and distress. This refusal became a major point of contention between the couple and the family, leading to further friction.

Financial Demands and Eviction

The situation escalated when the in-laws allegedly began demanding more money. The woman claims that her husband's family started pressuring her to bring 5 lakh rupees from her parents, citing the need for her husband's medical treatment. When she refused to fulfill this demand for 5 lakh rupees, the harassment intensified Notably. She was eventually forcibly removed from the house and told that she would only be allowed back if she returned with the requested 5 lakh rupees. The family allegedly told her that there would be no place for her in the house unless she brought the cash.

Police Investigation and Legal Action

Distraught by the continuous harassment and the breakdown of her marriage, the woman finally approached the Gorakhnath police. Based on her written complaint, the police have registered a case against a total of 5 individuals, including the husband and four other members of the in-laws side. The authorities are currently investigating the veracity of the claims made by the woman. Providing an update on the case, Gorakhnath Police Station In-charge Vijay Pratap Singh confirmed that the FIR has been lodged. He stated that the police are looking into all the allegations mentioned in the complaint and will take appropriate legal action based on the findings of the investigation. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and the police are currently questioning the parties involved to uncover the facts of the matter.
