New Delhi : Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday advised the states and one union territory to monitor the infrastructure with respect to medical oxygen. This advice of the Health Minister has come at a time when there is a huge jump in the cases of Kovid-19 infection due to Omicron variant in the country. Addressing a COVID-19 review meeting with five states and one union territory, Mandaviya urged his counterparts to ensure that "all types of oxygen infrastructure are checked in such a way that it is in running condition." be in."

Mandaviya said, “As we are fighting this surge of the pandemic, let there be no lapse in preparedness from our side. Overall coordination between the Center and the states is of paramount importance for seamless and effective pandemic management." He advised the states to conduct regular reviews to strengthen the health infrastructure, set up teleconsultation hubs in every district and focus on wider awareness about the infrastructure and health services available.

According to ANI, the meeting took place at 3:30 pm with the Health Ministers of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Earlier in the day, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan warned his counterparts in states and union territories of a sharp turnaround in the number of hospitalizations. He said that in the current surge, five to 10 per cent of the active cases have required hospitalization so far.
