This session is known for the presentation of the Union Budget, in which the government presents its economic plans and policies for the new financial year. This session is divided into two phases:First phase: This phase consists of the budget presentation and general discussion on it. The President's address also takes place at the beginning of this session, which mentions the policies and priorities of the government.Second phase: This phase consists of detailed discussions on the Appropriation Bill and the Finance Bill. In this session the government introduces new laws and reviews existing policies. Important bills like the GST (Amendment) Bill and the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill will be discussed in the 2025 monsoon session. Apart from this, MPs raise various social, economic and regional issues during Question Hour and Zero Hour.A special aspect of the monsoon session is that it pays special attention to seasonal issues, such as agriculture, water management and infrastructure. During the monsoon, many parts of the country face floods, droughts and other weather-related challenges, which are discussed intensely in Parliament. This session provides an opportunity for the government to take quick policy decisions on these issues.Winter Session: The Last Major Forum of the YearThe winter session, which is held from November to December, is the last major session of Parliament. This session too focuses on legislative work, policy review and issues of public interest. Many important bills are introduced and passed during this period. MPs seek answers from the government on various national and international issues during Question Hour and Zero Hour. This session is known for intense discussions on social, economic and political issues. Though this session may be relatively short due to the cold weather, its importance is in no way less.
