India has once again delivered a stinging rebuttal to Pakistan at the United Nations regarding the issues of Jammu and Kashmir and international terrorism. During a session at the UN, India's representative, Anupama Singh, lambasted Pakistan for its contradictory stance on terror. She pointedly questioned how Pakistan could claim to be a victim of terrorism when its own Defense Minister has openly admitted to providing sanctuary and patronage to terrorists. This sharp response came after Pakistan attempted to raise its usual rhetoric against India on the global stage, only to face a firm and factual counter-attack from the Indian diplomatic mission.
Rejection of False Allegations and OIC's Role
Diplomat Anupama Singh made it clear that India completely rejects the malicious and baseless allegations leveled by Pakistan. She also took a strong stand against the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), stating that both Pakistan and the OIC are misusing their roles to spread misinformation. India has summarily dismissed the comments made by the OIC regarding Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that such propaganda is merely a tool used by Pakistan to divert international attention from its own domestic failures and its continued support for terror networks. The Indian representative emphasized that these fabricated narratives hold no weight in the face of reality.
Jammu and Kashmir: An Integral Part of India
Reiterating India's long-standing and non-negotiable position, Anupama Singh declared that Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always remain an inseparable and integral part of India. She clarified that if there is any outstanding issue to be resolved, it's the illegal occupation of Indian territories by Pakistan. India has called upon Pakistan to vacate the territories it has occupied through unlawful means. The diplomat asserted that no amount of Pakistani propaganda can mask the grim reality of oppression and violence occurring within Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Human Rights Violations in PoJK
The Indian statement highlighted the tragic situation in Rawalakot and other areas of PoJK, where hundreds of people have reportedly been murdered. Anupama Singh described these incidents as the direct result of a system built on forced occupation and sustained through brutal suppression. She pointed out that for decades, Pakistan has engaged in military land grabs and systematic attempts to alter the demography of the region. On top of that, the basic freedoms of the people in PoJK have been stripped away, leading to a state of constant crisis.
Suppression of Basic Demands
The diplomat further noted that the legitimate demands of the people in PoJK—ranging from basic necessities like bread and electricity to fundamental rights and respect—are being met with bullets and extreme cruelty. She stated that it should come as no surprise to the international community that a regime relying on such tactics would resort to violence to silence its own people. This exposure of Pakistan's internal handling of occupied territories served as a powerful counter to the old tune played by the Pakistani delegation, which had earlier accused India of trying to defame it—a claim India has rejected in its entirety.
