PUNJAB | A shocking incident has come to light from Ferozepur, Punjab. A prisoner has claimed that the prison guard wrote 'Gangster' on his back with a hot iron rod. The video of prisoner Tarsem Singh is going viral on social media. The matter is being told of Ferozepur Jail in Punjab. Prisoner Tarsem Singh is lodged in a case of robbery in Ferozepur jail since 2017. Tarsem is a resident of Dhilwan (Kapurthala). He alleged in the district and sessions court here that he was harassed by a prison guard and wrote the word 'gangster' in Punjabi on his back with hot iron rods.

According to reports, Tarsem had appeared before the Kapurthala court on Wednesday, where he showed off his shirt and leveled the allegations of torture against the jail staff. He also claimed that his life was in danger. District and Sessions Judge Rakesh Kumar ordered that the prisoner be taken to Kapurthala Civil Hospital for medical examination and submit the report on August 20. Kapurthala SMO Dr. Sandeep Dhawan has said that whatever is necessary, will be done.

The next date of hearing is August 24. However, in the meantime the jail authorities have denied the allegations. He has said that the matter is from a few days back and Tarsem himself had got this written on his back by another prisoner to target the jail authorities. "The prisoner had apologized for it but yesterday when he went to court, he made false allegations," he said.

Tarsem Singh's parents had applied in the matter and also attended the hearing on Wednesday. He said that his son had also been wrongly booked by the police in several other criminal cases and also expressed apprehensions about his son's safety. An unidentified person had recorded the prisoner's statement and the video went viral on social media.
