India / ISRO launched 9 together satellites including Oceansat

Oceansat-3 Launching: The Indian Space Research Institute (ISRO) launched the PSLV-54/EOS-06 mission with Oceansat-3 and eight small satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota at 11.56 am on Saturday. PSLV-54 launched Oceansat-3 and eight mini satellites - 'Anand' from Pixel, Bhutansat, two Thybolts from Dhruva Space and four Astrocasts from Spaceflight USA.

Bhutansat is a joint satellite of India and Bhutan. It is a nano satellite. Bhutansat has remote sensing cameras. This satellite will help in development works like making railway tracks, building bridges.

Oceansat was first launched in 1999

Oceansat-1 was launched for the first time in 1999. After this, its Oceansat-2 was installed in space in 2009. ScatSat-1 was launched in 2016 after the scanning scatterometer of Oceansat-2 failed.

Satellites of the Oceansat series are earth observation satellites, which are used for oceanographic and atmospheric studies. These satellites are also capable of forecasting marine weather.
