Lok Sabha Election: The countdown to decide the candidates for Lok Sabha elections has started in Congress. Today (Monday) the decision on the first batch of tickets for Rajasthan will be taken in the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting of the Congress in Delhi. The first list of Congress candidates can be released any time after the CEC meeting. A decision on making senior leaders contest the Lok Sabha elections is likely to be taken in the CEC meeting. Congress has made former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel the Lok Sabha candidate from Rajanandgaon seat. After making Baghel the Lok Sabha candidate, the same formula is being considered to be adopted in Rajasthan also.

It is said that the Congress high command is considering giving tickets to veteran leaders from Rajasthan. Senior leaders including former CM Ashok Gehlot, National General Secretary Sachin Pilot, State President Govind Singh Dotasara, former Assembly Speaker CP Joshi have been advised to contest the elections. The decision on whether senior leaders should contest elections or not will be taken by CEC. A section of leaders in Congress is continuously advocating for senior leaders to contest the assembly elections. Ashok Gehlot has been advised to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Jodhpur, Sachin Pilot from Tonk-Sawaimadhopur, Govind Singh Dotasara from Sikar and CP Joshi from Jaipur or Bhilwara.

BJP MP Rahul Kaswan will join Congress

BJP MP from Churu Rahul Kaswan is preparing to leave the party. Rahul Kaswan may join Congress in Delhi on Monday (11 March). Congress has already held talks with Rahul Kaswan, he can make a formal announcement of leaving BJP any time. According to Congress sources, Rahul Kaswan will be given Lok Sabha ticket from Churu.

Preparations are underway to get Rahul Kaswan to join Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. Rahul Gandhi has left the trip and reached Delhi. Rahul Gandhi has gone to Delhi to attend the meeting of the Central Election Committee of Congress, during which preparations are being made to join Rahul Kaswan. Rahul Kaswan is likely to be given ticket in the very first list of Congress.

Lok Sabha tickets given to MLAs in the first phase, lost candidates also get a chance

In Congress, MLAs and former MLAs along with candidates who lost many seats are likely to get a chance again. The screening committee of Congress has sent the names of eight MLAs to CEC. Brijedra Ola from Jhunjhunu, Ashok Chandna from Kota-Bundi, Murarilal Meena from Dausa, Harish Chaudhary from Barmer, Sudarshan Singh Rawat from Rajsamand, Lalit Yadav from Alwar, Ganesh Ghoghra or Arjun Bamania from Banswara-Dungarpur seat, MLA from Karauli-Dholpur seat. Consideration is being given to giving Lok Sabha ticket to Anita Jatav or Sanjay Jatav.

The names of former minister from Bikaner Govindram Meghwal and former minister from Baran-Jhalawar Pramod Jain Bhaya are in the panel. Former MLA from Pali, Divya Maderna can be fielded. This time, consideration is being given to giving ticket to CM Ashok Gehlot's son and former RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot from Jalore Sirohi seat instead of Jodhpur. This time there is talk of giving ticket to former Vallabhnagar MLA Preeti Gajendra Singh Shaktawat from Chittorgarh seat.

Decision on leaving seats in alliance or not today

The decision regarding the alliance will be taken as per the recommendation of the committee headed by Mukul Wasnik. A decision will be taken based on the report of this committee in the CEC meeting today. Congress is in talks with allies regarding alliance on three seats in Rajasthan. Discussions are going on for alliance with Bharatiya Adivasi Party (BAP) on Banswara-Dungarpur seat. There is a possibility of alliance with Hanuman Beniwal's party RLP on Nagaur and Barmer seats. State President Govind Singh Dotasara and Sachin Pilot are not in favor of the alliance while a section is in favor of the alliance.
