Congress President Election: Now it has been decided that Mallikarjun Kharge, another trusted member of the Gandhi family, is contesting the Congress Presidential election. He will file nomination at 12.30. Digvijay Singh has pulled himself out of the race for the post of president. He will be Kharge's proponent along with Pramod Tiwari, PL Punia. At the same time, Shashi Tharoor is also going to file his nomination today, staking his claim for the post of president. With Kharge contesting the election, it has become clear that it is the choice of the Gandhi family. Digvijay Singh said that he cannot contest against Kharge.

What did Digvijay Singh say

Digvijay Singh said, I have worked for Congress all my life and will continue to do so. I never compromised on three things - standing up for Dalits, Adivasis and the poor, raising my voice against those who disturb communal harmony and devotion to the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Digvijay said, Kharge ji is my senior. I went to his residence yesterday and said that if he is filing nomination for the post of Congress President, I will not. Then he said that he is not enrolling. After that I came to know from the media that he is the candidate for this post. I told him that I stand with him and cannot even think of contesting against him. I will be his proponent.

Kharge is close to Gandhi family

Mallikarjun Kharge with a clear image is a strong leader of the Congress. He is also close to the Gandhi family. Coming from the Dalit community, Kharge also has good relations with the opposition leaders. After the rebellion of the MLAs, he went to Rajasthan as an observer. However, a question is also arising that if Kharge becomes the Congress President, will he leave the post of Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha as there is the principle of one man-one post in the Congress. Earlier, CM Ashok Gehlot was also asked to leave the post of Chief Minister.

At the same time, Ashok Gehlot said that our senior leaders have taken a decision regarding Mallikarjun Kharge. I will be his proponent. Gehlot also said that he will follow the orders of the party on all matters, including being the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
