West Bengal | CM Mamta Banerjee has raised questions on the incident of rape of a 14-year-old girl in Nadia, West Bengal. Mamta Banerjee said- The story is being told that a minor girl died due to rape, would you call her rape? Have you tried to find out why that girl was pregnant or was she having an affair? The police have told me that the girl and the boy were having an affair.

Significantly, on April 5, a 14-year-old minor girl died. The victim's family alleges that she had gone to a birthday party where she was raped after which she died. The family says that under pressure from the Trinamool Congress leader, the girl was forcibly cremated without conducting a post-mortem. The 21-year-old son of the same Trinamool Congress leader, Braj Gopal Goala, is accused of raping the girl.

Five days after the incident, the police registered a case and started investigation. On this matter, CM Mamta Banerjee said – The girl had died on 5 April but the police came to know about it on 10 April. If the girl had died on 5th April, why didn't the girl's family members immediately lodge a police complaint? If the family cremated the dead body, then from where will the police bring the evidence?

There is no love jihad in Bengal

Mamta Banerjee said- This is a matter of love affair, about which the family was also aware. If someone is in love how can we stop him? Taking a jibe at the Yogi government, Mamta Banerjee said that we do not do love jihad here. This is their own freedom, but if something goes wrong, the police will arrest the culprits.

Accusing BJP of misrepresenting the matter, Mamata Banerjee said- Every morning BJP decides what headline will play in the media. How many times have these people talked on oil prices or on Delhi riots or on NRC?
