Weather Update / Monsoon entry in North India, lightning wreaks havoc on UP-MP and Rajasthan, 75 killed

Lucknow/Patna/Jaipur/Bhopal. Monsoon has entered many states including UP, Bihar and Rajasthan after the Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecasts regarding monsoon in North India turned out to be incorrect. Although people got relief from the humidity and heat due to the monsoon rains, but in many places in UP, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, about 75 people have died due to lightning. At the same time, according to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on Monday.

However, Uttar Pradesh has suffered the most due to lightning and 40 people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. During this, 18 people lost their lives in Kanpur and adjoining districts of UP, 13 in Prayagraj, three in Kaushambi, one in Pratapgarh, three in Agra and one each in Varanasi and Rae Bareli districts. While a large number of scorched people have been admitted to various hospitals in the state. Not only this, more than 50 cattle have also died due to lightning in UP.

22 people died in Rajasthan

After the delay in monsoon, many districts including Rajasthan's capital Jaipur received heavy rains in the last 24 hours, but during this time 22 people, including 9 children, have been reported to have died due to lightning at different places. In these 11 deaths were reported in Jaipur, 4 in Kota and 3 in Dholpur. Apart from this, three people in different districts have also lost their lives due to lightning. Not only this, the rescue operation of those who died due to lightning is going on and its exact figures can come in the next few hours. At the same time, a large number of cattle have also died.

Wreak havoc on Madhya Pradesh, good luck in Bihar

The people of Madhya Pradesh got relief from the humidity and heat due to monsoon rains, but more than 13 people have lost their lives due to lightning. Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior has the maximum number of seven deaths during this period. However, no one has died in Bihar in the last 24 hours. Although the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in East and West Champaran, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in other districts of Bihar. Apart from this, lightning alert has been issued in most of the districts of the state with thunder. A big effect of weather can be seen in North-West Bihar.

Apart from this, the havoc of lightning has not been seen in Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand. However, at Sumgarh in Kapkot in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, three people have died after debris fell on the house due to heavy rains. By the way, the Meteorological Center (Dehradun) has issued an alert of Almora, Bageshwar, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Dehradun and Tehri rain with the possibility of heavy rain in the Kumaon and Garhwal regions from late evening in the state.

Stormy winds can blow in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorm winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour can occur in Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi. Apart from this, there is a possibility of lightning in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
