Monsoon Rain Alert in UP-Bihar: Most of the north Indian states have received normal rainfall between June 1 and July 15. Delhi and Ladakh are deficient in rainfall ranging from 23 to 25%. Uttar Pradesh has the highest rainfall deficit of 59 per cent. The situation is almost the same in Bihar as well. However, Haryana received only 2% rain, Punjab 6% and Uttarakhand 12% less. Since the beginning of July, the axis of monsoon trough remained over the central part of the country, causing heavy to very heavy rains over central India. In the rest of the country, the situation is quite the opposite. In such a situation, the big question in people's mind these days is that when will the torrential rains of monsoon happen.

According to a report in skymetweather, rain may intensify in western Uttar Pradesh by July 19 and 20. Parts of Punjab, Haryana as well as Delhi NCR may receive good rains on July 21 or 22. Good rain activities are expected to continue over North India for at least the next 4 to 5 days. Rain will definitely bring down the temperature. People will get relief from the heat.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain at isolated places occurred over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, South Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and light to moderate rain over North Odisha coast, Northwest Rajasthan and Kerala. Heavy rain occurred at one or two places with rain.

Light to moderate rain occurred over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Interior Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan parts of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Assam. Light rain occurred at one or two places over Sikkim, rest of Northeast India, Bihar, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Telangana and Interior Tamil Nadu.

Light rain expected in many states including Bihar today

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls at isolated places is likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kerala. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells is possible over East Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Light to moderate rain is possible over rest of Northeast India, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, Telangana, Interior Maharashtra, remaining parts of Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand. Light rain is possible over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, remaining parts of Rajasthan, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of Tamil Nadu.
