Lockdown: A sub-inspector in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh is "punishing" violators of lockdown by writing Lord Ram's name for 30-45 minutes and advising them to stay home and take care of their family. Sub-Inspector Santosh Singh, posted at the Sindhi Camp Baba Dayaldas Chowk, said that the new way of punishing those who violated the lockdown came to him when a nearby community donated several pamphlets to him.

Let us tell you that 20 check points have been made in the district to strictly implement the Corona curfew in the district. Santosh Singh has been posted at the Sindhi Camp Baba Dayaldas Chowk.

He said, "We used to sit them for 45 minutes to an hour earlier. So, I thought that they could write the name of Lord Rama as long as they are sitting. We let them sit at home and hang out instead of their mother- Also cautioned to take care of the father. "

He said that so far, no one has been forced to undergo this 'punishment'. He ensured that this measure was not contrary to his religious faith. He said, "People are asked to do it of their own volition. We have been doing this for 3 days and about 25 people have been punished so far. We have not received any complaint about it."

However, Satna Superintendent of Police Dharamvir Singh, who was not aware of Santosh's methods, clarified: “We have 20 such check points in which two officers are stationed at each place in two shifts. This measure was adopted by an officer in his capacity. It is not professional or legal which is not appreciated. He should follow what is legal and professional. "
