In the Rawalakot area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), actions taken by the Pakistani army, police, and other security forces have resulted in a significant number of civilian casualties. Reports from various sources suggest that in the last 36 hours alone, more than 35 people have been killed in the region. On top of that, the total number of civilian deaths during June and July is claimed to have exceeded 150, highlighting the intensity of the crackdown and the subsequent unrest.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India has closely monitored the developments in the region. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India's position is clear and well-known. He emphasized that the entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, which include areas under the illegal and forced occupation of Pakistan, are integral and inseparable parts of India. Regarding the widespread protests in PoK, Jaiswal noted that they're a direct consequence of Pakistan's economic exploitation, the denial of fundamental rights to the people, and administrative repression.
