PM Modi In Assam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Guwahati yesterday on a two-day visit. During his visit yesterday evening, the PM met the core committee of the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and will launch development projects worth about Rs 11,600 crore today. The Prime Minister arrived at Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport from Odisha around 6.30 pm yesterday and left for Koinadhara State Guest House. During this, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma, Union Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, some state ministers and senior administrative and police officers welcomed Modi.

After welcoming him at the airport, Governor Kataria said in a post on Twitter, “I am honored to welcome Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to our beautiful state of Assam.” Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma welcomed Modi in Assam, calling him the world's most popular leader, the flag bearer of the country's development and a true well-wisher of Assam and the North-East. “Thousands of people gathered at Khanapara to light 1,00,000 lamps, celebrating the arrival of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji in Assam,” he said. Union Minister Sonowal said that the people of Assam are enthusiastically waiting for Modi's guidance on the eve of big development works for the state and Northeast India.

Will address the public meeting at 11.30

CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma had said on Friday that the Prime Minister will meet the BJP's state core committee at night and discuss party matters. Modi will address a public meeting at the Veterinary College playground in Khanapara at 11.30 am on Sunday, from where several state and central projects will be unveiled.
