Lok Sabha Election: Congress has released the list of 4 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. In this, the names of Anand Sharma from Kangra, Raj Babbar from Gurugram, Satpal Raizada from Hamirpur seat of Himachal Pradesh and Bhushan Patil from Mumbai North have been announced. Raj Babbar has been the President of UP Congress. He is considered close to Rahul Gandhi. Let us tell you that RJD supremo Lalu Yadav was also pushing for his colleague Captain Ajay Yadav from Gurugram seat. On this seat, Raj Babbar is facing BJP's Rao Inderjit Singh and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) candidate Rahul Yadav Fazilpuria. Voting is to be held here on 25th May.

Anand Sharma has been a minister in the Congress government.

Let us tell you that both Raj Babbar and Anand Sharma have been part of G-23. Anand Sharma had recently written a letter to the CWC members saying that conducting caste census was against the ideology of Congress. Sharma has also been a minister in the Congress government. Along with this, he has been a member of the Upper House of Parliament.

When will voting take place in Kangra and Hamirpur?

On the other hand, there is a direct contest between Congress and BJP on Kangra seat. BJP has won this seat seven times in the last nine elections. BJP has won the last three Lok Sabha elections consecutively. Earlier this seat used to be a stronghold of Congress. Now it is under the control of BJP. Voting will be held in the seventh phase in Himachal Pradesh on June 1. Voting will be held in Mandi, Hamirpur, Shimla as well as Kangra seats.

Kishan Kapoor had won in the last Lok Sabha elections

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Kishan Kapoor of Bharatiya Janata Party had won the Kangra seat. He got 7,25,218 votes in this election, while his nearest rival Congress candidate Pawan Kajal got 2,47,595 votes. In the year 2014, BJP candidate Shanta Kumar had won. In this election, he defeated Chander Kumar of Congress by 2,86,091 votes.
