Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Dr, while kirodi Lal Meena has returned to his proactive enforcement mode. On Thursday, he conducted a surprise inspection at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch located in Pallu, Hanumangarh district, where he exposed a major scam operating under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The sudden visit by the minister caused significant panic among bank officials and related department authorities.
Conspiracy to Loot Crores via Fake Accounts
The facts revealed during the investigation are startling, indicating a deep-rooted corruption aimed at usurping the rights of farmers. It was discovered that accounts were opened in the names of 66 fake farmers at the bank branch. These individuals were falsely documented as debtors (borrowers) in the bank records to facilitate the fraudulent insurance claims.
₹9 Crore Claim and Imminent Withdrawal
Through this fraudulent scheme, a crop insurance claim amounting to approximately ₹9 crore was prepared. Most notably, this substantial sum was scheduled to be withdrawn within this week. However, the timely intervention and inspection by Minister Meena brought the scam to light before the funds could be misappropriated.
High-Level Inquiry and Strict Action Against Culprits
Expressing deep concern over the incident, Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena stated that this isn't merely corruption but a betrayal of the nation's farmers. He emphasized that such looting in the name of farmers, who sustain the country, is intolerable. The minister immediately issued orders for a high-level investigation into the entire matter on the spot.
The Agriculture Minister assured that the BJP government remains fully vigilant regarding the rights of farmers, while he issued a stern warning, stating that anyone involved in this conspiracy would face the strictest possible punishment. He reiterated that there is no place in the system for those who snatch the rights of the providers of food, and justice will be ensured at all costs.
