Jagdeep Dhankhar: Suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee was seen mimicking Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in the Parliament complex. During this time, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was making his video. When the matter came to light, it did not take long for the political temperature to rise. BJP linked this matter with the ridicule of the Vice President as well as the insult of the OBC leader. Even Vice President Dhankhar himself called it an insult to his caste and farmers. Actually, Jagdeep Dhankhar comes from Jat community.

The Vice President says that he does not care about himself. He can tolerate this kind of insult. Expressing disappointment, he said that his caste, his background and his position were insulted. At the same time, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi says that Congress has always been insulting OBC leaders. His reference was towards Rahul Gandhi.

‘Is it right to make fun of Jats like this?’

At the same time, BJP leader Sambit Patra says that the Vice President is being made fun of. Has anyone poked fun at their parents' hunched shoulders? Is it a joke to make fun of the shoulders of Jats? Trying to mimic will never be forgiven. He wants to ask Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Randeep Surjewala whether it is right to make fun of Jats like this? It is clearly visible from Patra's statement that BJP is not going to backfoot on the issue of Jat community.

The Jat community seems to be quite angry over the mimicry of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. He has demonstrated in Delhi in support of the Vice President and against the TMC MP. Not only this, The Jat Association has even warned Congress of facing consequences. Jat Association says that Congress has ridiculed the Vice President of the country and the pride of Jat community, Jagdeep Dhankhar. The Jat community will definitely answer this mockery in the coming Lok Sabha.

Apart from this, farmers and Jat community have called a meeting of heads and presidents of different villages and Khaps in Dwarka, Delhi. This meeting is to be held on 24th December. The outline of further protest will be prepared in the meeting. He says that Kalyan Banerjee will be given a few days' time. If he does not apologize then a Mahapanchayat will be held in front of his house by calling farmers.

Should Jats become disillusioned with Congress?

Actually, Jat community has been dominant in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi. The influence of this community is visible on 40 seats of the Lok Sabha and it decides the fate of the candidates on 160 seats of the Assemblies. There are elections in Haryana also in 2024. Here 37 assembly seats and 10 Lok Sabha seats are Jat dominated. In such a situation, if the Jat community becomes disillusioned with the Congress, it may suffer a big loss because during the last Lok Sabha elections 2019, the Jat vote had slipped from the BJP and it went to the Congress, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and JJP.

The Jat community has its influence on about 12 Lok Sabha seats in western Uttar Pradesh. However, the effect is not visible in other parts of the state. If we talk about Rajasthan, the Vice President comes from Jhunjhunu district of the state. The Jat community dominates here. The interesting thing is that Congress is considered strong in this area. If the Jat community goes against him, then the party will face another big blow as it has recently faced a crushing defeat in the assembly elections. BJP can capitalize on this issue and may also benefit in the Lok Sabha elections.

Jats can spoil the game of Congress in Punjab

The number of Jats in the national capital Delhi is not large, but they have been playing a decisive role. Their number is about three percent and the inclination of this community has been towards BJP. BJP has been winning all the seven seats in the national capital in the last two Lok Sabha elections, in which the Jat community has openly voted for it. At the same time, in Punjab also the number of Jats is said to be 25 to 30 percent. Congress is currently out of power here. She had lost badly to Aam Aadmi Party. The party is busy finding its ground again.
