Budget 2024: Nirmala Sitharaman has started giving her budget speech in the country's Parliament. He told in his speech that the poor of the country have directly benefited from the government schemes. He has also mentioned PM Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and PM Kisan Samman Yojana. She says that at present the government schemes are reaching the common people directly. What is PM Jan Dhan Yojana?

The objective of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is to provide financial services to the weaker section and low income people. These services include savings bank account, loan, insurance, and pension. Under this scheme, account holders get overdraft facility up to Rs 10,000. Draft facility of Rs 2,000 is also available as soon as the account is opened. There is no need to maintain minimum balance in this account. To avail the overdraft facility, the Jan Dhan account must be at least 6 months old. If the account is less than 6 months old, overdraft facility is available only up to Rs 2,000. The maximum age limit for overdraft facility is 65 years.

Who gets the benefit of Prime Minister Annadata?

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) was launched in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its objective was to remove the problems faced by the poor and needy. Under this scheme, grains are distributed regularly on a monthly basis. Every person gets 5 kg of grains every month. Let us tell you that this scheme was extended for four months (December 2021-March 2022) in November 2021. After that, the cabinet again decided to extend the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for five years from January 1, 2024.

Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government gives Rs 6,000 annually to farmers. This amount is given in installments. In every installment, Rs 2,000 comes into the farmer's account. On November 15, 2023, the government had released the 15th installment in the accounts of crores of farmers of the country.
