Technically still a member of the Legislative Council

Actually, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray has not officially resigned from the membership of Maharashtra Legislative Council. However, 40 days have elapsed since he made the announcement in this regard at the time of stepping down as the Chief Minister. According to the report, a senior official of Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan told on Monday that technically Uddhav Thackeray is still a Member of Legislative Council (MLC) as he has not submitted his resignation yet.

No written information was given regarding resignation

According to the report, that official has told that he has not yet officially resigned from the Legislative Council. The resignation from the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra has been accepted by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, but we have not received any written communication from him regarding his resignation from the Upper House of the State Legislature.

After this information, political experts are speculating as to how this might have happened. Meanwhile, the cabinet of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis government of Maharashtra has been expanded after waiting for 40 days. 9 ministers have taken oath from BJP quota. A similar number of MLAs have taken oath from the camp of Eknath Shinde. Bhagat Singh Koshyari administered the oath of office to a total of 18 MLAs.

At present, no woman leader has got a chance to become a minister in the cabinet expansion of the Eknath Shinde government. With this expansion, the number of members of the Maharashtra Council of Ministers has increased to 20. Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis took oath on 30 June.
