Jaisalmer / Villagers questioned for ordering social boycott in Jaisalmer

Police in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer has booked 57 village elders for allegedly ordering the social boycott of 45 households associated with an accused in a homicide that occurred withinside the vicinity in October 2020.


Jaisalmer police superintendent Ajay Singh stated the case in opposition to the 57 has been registered and investigation has begun out.


The elders allegedly ordered the boycott in November last year of friends and household of a man, who's accused of killing the husband of a woman he changed into in a relationship with. The man, woman, and her mother have been arrested for the homicide. The households say they may be now no longer allowed to move around or to wait for functions regardless of having nothing to do with the homicide.


Hanumana Ram, a nearby police officer, stated the investigation has been begun out and the elders had been known to affirm the facts and for questioning.

“Since November 2020, those households attempted settling the difficulty with the network elders however after many failed attempts, they now have approached the police for justice.”
