The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the coastal areas due to the formation of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. While there are chances of rain in many parts of Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours, heavy rain has been predicted in Eastern and North-Eastern India from today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts of Odisha and West Bengal. Apart from this, drizzle is expected in Delhi also from today.

Heavy rain in southern districts of Bengal

"A low pressure area has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal. This system will intensify and move northwards over eastern and northeastern India on November 15, 16 and 17," said Soma Sen, senior scientist at IMD. There may be rain on 22nd. Rain situation in Tamil Nadu

On rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Chennai Regional Meteorological Department Director Balachandran said, "We had very good rainfall, especially in the coastal areas. Heavy rainfall was recorded at around 36 places, with the highest rainfall of around 90 cm recorded at the Chennai DGP office. "As far as the forecast is concerned, light to moderate rainfall is likely at many places along the coastal areas and some parts of the interior areas in the next 24 hours."

Alert for districts of Odisha

The weather department has issued a yellow alert in 6 districts of Odisha, including Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Ganjam, while heavy rain is predicted in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on November 17.
