Weekend curfew has come into force in Delhi from 10 pm last night. As soon as the weekend curfew is implemented, the police have intensified the process of investigation and interrogation of the people out on the road. Weekend curfew has been implemented in Delhi under a government order. This is the second consecutive week of weekend curfew. The administration says that the restrictions will be reduced or increased only in view of the situation.

Essential services have been exempted during the curfew. Normal movement of people will now be restricted till 5 am on Monday. During this, if someone is going to travel by train or plane, then it is necessary to have a travel ticket with him.

E-pass will have to be shown at every exit

Officials said that people will be allowed to come out of their homes only in case of emergency. Those exiting will have to present an e-pass or a valid identity card issued by the government. Officials said that there will be a strict vigil on markets, roads, colonies and other public places. If need be, we will also increase the number of enforcement squads. If someone has to go out for important work and if he does not fall in any of the exempted category, then he has to take e-pass issued by Delhi government.

These people will be able to travel by showing valid ID

Apart from these, judges, judicial officers, court staff, journalists and lawyers will also be allowed to travel on production of valid identity card, service ID card, photo entry pass and permission letter issued by the court administration. Others exempted include private medical workers such as doctors, nursing staff, paramedics and those associated with hospitals, diagnostic centres, testing laboratories, clinics, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies and medical oxygen suppliers on production of valid ID. People coming to or leaving from airports, railway stations and inter-state bus terminus will be allowed to travel on production of valid tickets.

Metro will be available after 15 minutes on Blue-Yellow line, 20 minutes on the remaining

Like last weekend's curfew, this time too commuters will have to wait for the Metro on Saturdays and Sundays. Metros on Yellow Line (HUDA City Center to Samaypur Badli) and Blue Line (Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali) will be available at an interval of 15 minutes as per the guidelines of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). Trains will be available at a frequency of 20 minutes during the weekend curfew on all other lines. Metro services for the remaining days of the week i.e. Monday to Friday will run as per the extant guidelines.

At present, seating is allowed in metro trains with 100 percent capacity, but there is a ban on standing in the journey. Hence, entry into trains and stations will remain highly restricted. Only 50 passengers are allowed in each coach. As advised by DMRC, travel only when absolutely necessary. Also keep extra time for traveling in metro so that precaution can be followed. May have to wait for some time for metro. Changes can be made when there is a rush.
