Corona Lockdown / West Bengal govt announces complete lockdown from May 16 to 30 amid coronavirus cases

Corona Lockdown: Complete lockdown has been announced in West Bengal amidst the Corona havoc continuing in the country. The West Bengal government has imposed a complete lockdown in the state from May 16 to May 30 to halt the growing cases of Corona. During this period, all activities except mandatory services will be banned. All educational institutions including schools and colleges will remain closed.

During the complete lockdown, nothing will be operational in Bengal except during the complete lockdown of the Chief Secretary of the state and only those connected will be allowed to travel. Only 50 people are allowed to attend weddings in Bengal while a maximum of 20 people will be able to attend the funeral. Also religious places have been closed.

In Bengal, metro and bus services will remain closed during this period. Let me tell you that the corona virus continues to wreak havoc in Bengal. According to the Ministry of Health, there are a total of 131792 active cases of corona virus in the state. So far, 12993 people have died from the corona and around 950017 people have been cured.
