Delhi Election 2025: Delhi Police has ensured its full preparation for the upcoming assembly elections. Extensive security arrangements have been made in the elections so that voters can exercise their franchise fairly and freely.

Polling stations have been set up at a total of 1284 places in Delhi, while 10 Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) storage centers have been set up. More than 25,000 policemen will be deployed on the day of elections, as well as 220 companies from the Ministry of Home Affairs have been provided as additional security forces. Apart from this, 9,000 Home Guard jawans will also be deployed on election duty.

Special arrangements have been made to smoothly transport EVMs to the strong room. Under this, the security system has been made multi-level so that there is no irregularity of any kind.

The Delhi Police has tightened the noose on crimes before the elections and has taken action in those places where alcohol and drugs were more prevalent. During this period, more than 51,000 liters of illicit liquor was seized, which is much more than the 32,000 liters of liquor caught during the 2020 elections. Similarly, the police have seized Rs 5.2 crore in cash, while in 2020 this figure was around Rs 1.5 crore. The police have deposited 8,900 weapons and taken preventive action against more than 1 lakh people, while 25,000 people have been bound down.

During the election campaign, Delhi Police covered more than 1,200 campaign events every day. About 12,000 campaign and rally programs were organized during the code of conduct. The police fear that complaints of activities like distributing liquor and cash may come in the last time of the election, so special vigilance will be taken. Intensive checking will be done on the borders of Delhi so that cross-border movement can be controlled.

Special CP Zone 1, Ravinder Yadav said that carrying mobile phones inside the polling booth will be completely prohibited. If anyone violates this rule, legal action will be taken against him. On the concerns expressed by political parties regarding the security of the strong room, he clarified that the security of the strong room will be multi-layered and no kind of lapse will be allowed in it.

Delhi Police has assured that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure that the elections are conducted fairly and peacefully.
