The company issued a statement

The Zomato company issued a statement on Friday saying that its co-founder Mohit Gupta has resigned from his post. He played a key role in the launch of the company four and a half years ago. After this, in the year 2020, he was promoted and made the CEO of the company's food delivery business.

Mohit Gupta gave the reason for his resignation

Mohit Gupta informed about his decision by sending his resignation to the company. In this message, Gupta said, 'I have decided to leave Zomato in search of a new adventure, so that I can enjoy life.' The company later forwarded this message of Mohit Gupta to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) informing about the reshuffle in the company.

'Main managerial position was not there'

The company said that Mohit Gupta has decided to withdraw from Zomato on his own free will. He was also not on the main managerial position in Zomato under the Companies Act 2013. Before Mohit Gupta, in the year 2021, another co-founder of the company, Gaurav Gupta, had resigned. He was the head of supply in Zomato. Mohit and Gaurav Gupta started Zomato together with Deepinder Goyal.

Gupta joined Zomato four and a half years ago. He was promoted from the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company to co-founder in the year 2020.
