Agneepath Scheme : Amidst the opposition to the 'Agneepath Scheme' brought for recruitment in the three armies of the country, the Defense Ministry made several big announcements on Saturday. In a statement issued by the Defense Minister's Office, it has been said that 10 percent vacancies in the Ministry of Defense will be reserved for those 'Agniveers' who fulfill the required eligibility criteria. The government has also made it clear that this quota will be different from the quota given to ex-servicemen. At the same time, Union Minister Anurag Thakur also said, I appeal to the youth that violence is not the right way. The government is listening to your concerns seriously. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is also contemplating to do something for him after serving for 4 years.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also approved the proposal to reserve 10 per cent job vacancies in the Ministry of Defense for Agniveers who fulfill the required eligibility criteria. The Defense Ministry said that necessary amendments will be made in the relevant recruitment rules to implement these provisions. In addition, Defense Public Sector Undertakings will be advised to make similar amendments in their respective Recruitment Rules.

Provision for relaxation in the required age will also be made. Apart from this, 10 percent vacancies will be reserved for Indian Coast Guard and Defense Civil Posts and in all 16 PSU jobs in the defense sector. The government has also made it clear that this reservation will be different from the quota given to ex-servicemen.
