Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Bangladesh. This is PM Modi's first foreign trip in the Corona era. PM Modi has reached Bangladesh as the chief guest on this occasion of celebrating 50 years of independence of Bangladesh. PM Modi will be involved in a number of events during the two-day visit to Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, at an event in Dhaka, PM Modi said that joining the struggle for the independence of Bangladesh was one of the first movements of my life. I must have been 20-22 years old when I and many of my colleagues had done Satyagraha for the freedom of the people of Bangladesh.

PM Narendra Modi honored Sheikh Mujibur Rahman posthumously with the Gandhi Peace Prize. He remembered Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by handing over the award to PM Sheikh Hasina. PM Modi said that the relationship between the two countries is getting stronger. I am very happy to give this honor. PM Modi said that I thank President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the citizens of Bangladesh. In these glorious moments, you extended a warm invitation to India to participate in this festival.

PM Modi further said that on behalf of all Indians, I pay tribute to Bangobandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who gave his life for Bangladesh and its people.

During the speech, the PM also recalled the Indian soldiers who shed blood for Bangladesh's independence. He said that the blood of these two soldiers is mixed in Bangladesh and this blood makes the relationship between the two countries so strong that it cannot be broken under any circumstances.

Earlier, PM Modi met several sections in Dhaka on Friday. PM Modi met leaders of political parties, opposition parties of Bangladesh. At the same time, PM Modi also met the members of the ruling coalition of Bangladesh.

Apart from politicians, PM Modi on Friday met the stars of Bangladesh, the youth. Among them were Bangladesh's star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and Bangladesh film industry stars.

PM Modi also met the people of the Indian community in Dhaka. At the same time, PM Vohra also met the people of the community. PM Modi spoke to the people of Vohra community in Gujarati language. The people of the Vohra community said that we did not expect that PM Modi would be able to meet, because there are quite a few protocols. But PM Modi met everyone

The Indian Foreign Ministry said that during his two-day visit to Bangladesh, PM Narendra Modi met and interacted with opposition leaders of various political parties in Bangladesh. Issues related to bilateral relations of both countries were widely discussed.
