According to the Indian Army, 107 companies of TA were hit by a heavy land-slide near Tupal railway station in None district on the night of 29-30 June. Soldiers posted at this location guarding the under-construction Manipur-Jiribam railway line were present. After the land slide incident, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles started full-scale rescue operations.

Relief and rescue work is going on continuously

Machinery from the railway's on-site engineering plant was used for relief and rescue operations. According to the information, 13 soldiers were safely taken out till 5.30 am. All the injured are being treated at the Army Medical Unit at None. Seriously injured soldiers are being shifted to Imphal and other places.
