All top officials including DGP and members of security agencies have reached Mohali to investigate the attack on the office of the Intelligence Department of Punjab Police. The DGP is inside the office for about a quarter of an hour. He will give information about the investigation so far in the matter by holding a press conference at 12.30 am.


On the incident of attack in Mohali, CM Bhagwant Mann said that those who spoil the atmosphere of Punjab will not be spared. On Tuesday, he sought a report from the DGP and other intelligence officers in this matter. Mann said that the accused would be punished severely. The situation will become more clear by evening. The investigation continues.


An FIR has been registered at the Sohana police station in connection with the attack on the intelligence headquarters in Mohali. FIR has been registered under 307 IPC, 16 UAPA and 03 Explosive Substances Act against unknown persons on the statement of SI Balkar Singh. At the same time, the top official of Punjab Police confirmed that 11 suspects have been detained in connection with the Mohali Punjab Intelligence Building blast.

Mann called a meeting of officers

After the attack on the office of the Intelligence Department of Punjab Police in Mohali, the whole of Punjab is on high alert. CM Bhagwant Mann has called a meeting of all the big police officers including DGP in this matter in the morning. At the same time, the team of NIA is also coming to Mohali to investigate the matter.

The attack on the Punjab Intelligence office in Mohali on Monday night was carried out with a rocket launcher from a moving car. According to police sources, the attackers had come in a Swift car and had targeted the building with the moving car itself. This incident has been caught on CCTV. At the same time, after the information about the attack from the rocket launcher, not only Mohali but the officials of Tricity swung into action. SSP Chandigarh Kuldeep Singh Chahal, SSP Mohali Viveksheel Soni reached the spot and verified all the facts.


According to Mohali police, the blast was reported at around 7.45 pm on Monday. Most of the employees had left the house from the headquarters when the attack took place. Only the security staff deployed there was stationed there. Police said the rocket-like weapon was fired from a distance of 25-30 meters, due to which it fell directly near the headquarters table, breaking the window and glass of the building. Soon after the attack, senior officers reached the spot and immediately the entire area was cordoned off by the police.


CM ordered an inquiry into the whole matter

CM Bhagwant Mann has ordered an inquiry into this entire matter. He tweeted that the police is investigating the matter. The guilty will not be spared. He has sought a report of the entire matter from the DGP. After this, a high alert has been issued in entire Punjab.


Building lights turned off

Tension prevailed in the area after the attack on Intelligence Headquarters. Investigation teams are on the spot, but in the meantime the office lights were switched off. Usually after such an incident, all the lights are turned on, but after the explosion, the lights of the building were switched off here.


Police is not accepting terrorist attack

The police have so far ruled out a terrorist angle in the attack. However, when asked whether it could be treated as a terrorist attack, Mohali SP (headquarters) Ravinder Pal Singh said it cannot be ignored. We are investigating it.


Earlier a press release issued by Mohali Police said that a minor explosion was reported at around 7:45 pm on Monday at Punjab Police Intelligence Head Quarter at SAS Nagar in Sector 77, Mohali. No damage reported. Senior officials are on the spot and investigation is underway. Forensic teams have been called.
