Lok Sabha Election: Lok Sabha elections 2024 have been announced. All the parties are working hard to prepare for their victory. Various parties including BJP have also announced the names of their Lok Sabha candidates on many seats. In this sequence, Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM has also made a big announcement. The party said on Monday that it will contest from Bharuch and Gandhinagar in Gujarat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you that currently Union Home Minister Amit Shah is the MP from Gandhinagar seat. This time also BJP has given him ticket from the same seat.

What did AIMIM say?

AIMIM Gujarat President Sabir Kabliwala has said that our leadership has decided to field party candidates from Bharuch and Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seats. The names of the candidates will be announced soon. Let us tell you that both Bharuch and Gandhinagar areas have a sizeable Muslim population. While Amit Shah is from Gandhinagar, Mansukh Vasava is the MP from Bharuch. Both the leaders are contesting from the same seats in 2024 also.

What was the result in 2019?

In the Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, Amit Shah had registered a big victory from Gandhinagar seat. Amit Shah had defeated his opponent Congress candidate by 5,57,014 votes. He got around 8,94,000 votes. Let us tell you that this time Congress has given ticket to Sonal Patel from Gandhinagar. Congress has not been able to win this seat since 1984.

When are the elections in Gujarat?

The Election Commission has said that the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases. The first phase of voting will take place on April 19. The second phase of voting will be held on April 26. The third phase of voting will take place on May 7. The fourth phase of voting will take place on May 13. The fifth phase of voting will be held on May 20. The sixth phase of voting will take place on May 25. The seventh phase of voting will take place on June 1. Voting will be held in Gujarat on 7th May. Voting will take place in the third phase in Gujarat. Elections will be held simultaneously for all 26 seats. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
