Dhanteras Puja Rituals
On Dhanteras, thoroughly clean your home and adorn the entrance with rangoli and traditional lamps. During the puja, place a red cloth on a wooden chauki (stool) and install idols or images of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Kubera, and Lord Dhanvantari. Perform abhishek with Gangajal, then offer unbroken rice (akshat), flowers, lamps (deep), and incense (dhoop), while it's considered auspicious to worship your locker, account books, or new business documents on this day. In the evening, light a lamp facing the south direction in the name of Yamraj to ward off the fear of untimely death.
