Asaduddin Owaisi on minimum age for alcohol: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted the Narendra Modi government at the Center over the minimum age for alcohol. Owaisi tweeted taunting the Modi government and wrote, 'For short-term revenue gains, the central government is playing with the future of India. BJP wants to increase the age of marriage to 21 years but wants to reduce the minimum age for liquor.

He further wrote, 'Studies provide information that the higher the minimum drinking age, the better the life. Alcohol is a public health issue and not limited to personal preference or tax revenue.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Owaisi, while targeting the central government, said that the country's GDP is also being harmed due to deaths due to consumption of alcohol and this figure of loss 1.5 per cent of the total loss. In fact, it has been revealed in a report that due to excessive consumption of alcohol, the country's GDP is decreasing by 1.45 percent every year.

Youth should enter politics, the age of contesting elections should be reduced

Along with this, Owaisi also advocated the inclusion of youth in politics. He said that to reduce the deaths due to alcohol, it is necessary to bring youth into politics. For this the minimum age should be reduced. Owaisi has advocated reducing the minimum age for contesting the Lok Sabha elections from 25 to 20.

In fact, Owaisi has also raised the issue of reducing the age for contesting Lok Sabha elections in Parliament. He had also introduced a private bill for this in the monsoon session. In this, there was a demand to reduce the age for the candidature of the Lok Sabha elections.
