Lok Sabha Election / Congress released manifesto, mentioned 5 justices and 25 guarantees, know details

Lok Sabha Election: Congress has released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the interests of every section of the society have been taken care of in this manifesto. Kharge has guaranteed five types of justice in the press conference. Under Yuva Nyay, the first job of every educated youth has been assured and an annual stipend of Rs 1 lakh has been promised, under Nari Nyay, it has been said that a woman from a poor family will be given an annual assistance of Rs 1 lakh, under Kisan Nyay, farmers will be provided financial assistance. It has been said that there will be loan waiver and legal guarantee of MSP. Under Labor Justice, a minimum daily wage of up to Rs 400 will be given under MNREGA.

Mallikarjun Kharge has described the Congress manifesto as a document of justice. He said that 5 justices and 25 guarantees have been given in this document. He also said that under participatory justice, every person and every class will be counted or caste census will be done for socio-economic equality. Along with this, he promised that every guarantee of the manifesto will be fulfilled if his party's government comes to power at the Centre.

What are the promises of Congress for the youth?

  • Promise to bring Apprenticeship Rights Act by removing the Apprentice Act, 1961. This law will be for every diploma holder or graduate below 25 years of age. Promise to give honorarium of Rs 1 lakh per year to every trainee. The law promises to provide skills and employment opportunities to the youth.
  • Promise to set up fast track courts to adjudicate paper leak cases and provide financial compensation to the victims.
  • Promise to fill about 30 lakh vacant posts sanctioned at all levels. Promise to fill the vacancies in Panchayat and urban bodies on time with the consent of the state governments.
  • Promise to restructure the Fund of Funds scheme for start-ups. Promise to allocate 50 per cent of the available funds, Rs 5,000 crore, equally across all the districts of the country. Promise to help youth under 40 years of age across the country to start their own business.
  • A promise to give a chance to appear for the examination once again to those applicants who were unable to appear for the government examination between April 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021 during the pandemic.
  • Promise to abolish application fees for government examinations and government posts.
  • Promise to waive off all education loans along with interest till March 15, 2024.
  • Sports scholarship of Rs 10,000 per month to talented and emerging players below 21 years of age.
What are the promises for minorities?

  • Promise to maintain the fundamental rights given to minorities under Articles 15, 16, 25, 28, 29 and 30 of the Constitution, this will also include the right to language.
  • Promise of encouragement and assistance to minority students and youth in education, employment, business, service, sports, arts and other fields.
  • Promise to re-implement Maulana Azad Scholarship for study abroad and increase the number of scholarships.
  • Promise to make easy loan policy for economic empowerment.
  • Promise to provide opportunities to minorities without discrimination in education, health, government jobs, public works, skill development, sports and cultural activities.
  • Like every citizen, minorities are also promised freedom of dress, food, language and personal laws.
  • Reforms in personal laws as well as a promise to fulfill the long-standing demand of including more languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
Congress promises for women

  • Promise to reserve half percent of jobs for women from the year 2025.
  • Promise of appointment of women on high posts in the government such as judge, secretary, police officer, law officer, board director posts.
  • Promise to stop discrimination in women's pay, promise to implement the principle of equal pay for equal work.
  • Promise to double the salary of frontline health women workers.
  • Promise to increase the amount of institutional credit for women. Promise to re-establish Mahila Bank.
  • Promise to review the laws related to marriage, inheritance, inheritance, adoption and guardianship.
Promises made to farmers

  • Promise of guarantee of MSP as per the recommendation of Swaminathan Commission.
  • Promise to make Agricultural Cost and Support Price Commission an ideological body.
  • Promise to deposit MSP directly into the farmer's bank account.
  • Promise to appoint a Permanent Commission on Agricultural Finance for limitation and relief of agricultural credit from time to time.
  • Promise to make crop insurance according to the farm and the farmer.
  • Promise that the e-market will be operated by an autonomous body.
  • Promise to establish retail markets in big and small cities.
  • Promise of a concrete policy on export-import of agricultural products.
  • Promise to promote horticulture, pesticides, pisciculture, silkworm rearing.
  • Promise to double dairy and poultry production in five years.
Promise made regarding EVM

  • Promise to amend election laws for transparency of EVMs and ballot papers.
  • Voting will be done through EVMs but the electronic vote tally will be matched with the VVPAT slip tally.
  • A promise to repeal all laws and regulations that unfairly interfere with individual liberty.
