New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Morcha spokesperson Syed Yasar Jilani has criticized AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for opposing the survey at Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi. He said that Owaisi is trying to provoke a section and play the victim card.

Talking to news agency ANI, Jilani said, "Asaduddin Owaisi is doing the work of devils. Owaisi is known to oppose whatever work is done according to the Constitution of India. He is under Article 6 of the 1991 Act. But, he does not discuss Article 4, which is for worship. Asaduddin Owaisi's only job is to obstruct any good work in every way."

BJP leader Jilani said facts should be presented in the court. He said, "Tell people what facts come out. Do you (Owaisi) have faith in the Constitution of India or not? If you have faith then you should wait. But, Asaduddin Owaisi continues to be one class, one community people. trying to intimidate. Victims are playing cards."

When asked about the claims of finding a Shivling in the Gyanvapi Masjid complex, Jilani said, "People of India trust the court. I believe the survey report will be given due consideration by the court. Those who are on the other side have their due consideration." He also has the right to go to the Supreme Court. Our Constitution has given equal power to all."

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday termed the Varanasi court's order on the Kashi-Viswanath temple-Gyanvapi mosque issue as wrong, unfair and illegal. Earlier on Monday, a Varanasi court directed the district administration to seal the survey site inside the premises where the survey team had allegedly found the 'Shivling'.

The third day of the survey, with court-ordered videography, concluded on Monday at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple-Gyanvapi Masjid complex in Varanasi. Hindu petitioner Sohan Lal Arya in the case claimed that the committee has found a Shivling in the premises. Arya, who accompanied the court commission to survey the mosque, said he had found conclusive evidence. Let us tell you that the survey was done as per the order of the Varanasi Civil Court to continue the survey despite the objections of the mosque authorities.

After the conclusion of the survey, the Varanasi court ordered Varanasi District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, "to seal the area where the Shivling was found and prevent people from visiting the place." The court, in its order, said that the responsibility of protecting the sealed area would rest with the DM, the Commissioner of Police and the Commandant of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Varanasi. However, the matter is sub-judice in the Supreme Court, from where the final decision is yet to come.
