Delhi Ordinance Bill: To prevent BJP from coming to power for the third time in the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition parties decided to fight together. The first litmus test of the opposition alliance 'INDIA' took place on 'Delhi Service Bill'. 'INDIA' may not have been successful in stopping the bill in the Parliament, but Modi remained united in both the Houses from besieging the government till voting. In this way, the opposition coalition has shown its trailer on the Delhi Service Bill in the Parliament and now the test of India's solidarity will be on the no-confidence motion. It has to be seen whether the opposition alliance 'INDIA' will remain united like this or will Kejriwal separate himself from the alliance as predicted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah?

Solidarity of 'INDIA' in Parliament

After the Lok Sabha, the 'Delhi Services Bill' has also been passed by the Rajya Sabha on Monday. After a discussion that lasted for more than seven hours, the voting took place. In the Rajya Sabha, 131 members voted in support of the bill, while 102 members voted against it. The opposition coalition strongly opposed the bill, but could not prevent its passage. With the support of YSR Congress and BJD, the Modi government has easily passed the bill.

The opposition coalition INDIA may not have been able to stop the bill, but it stood united in its first test on the floor of the Parliament. Not only this, the members of KCR's party BRS, which keeps distance from India, also voted against the bill. In this way all the parties of INDIA maintained their unity.

The INDIA coalition managed to stay united and register its presence in the Parliament. Especially visible in the Lok Sabha where the Aam Aadmi Party has just one MP. Despite this, Congress, TMC, DMK, NCP, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), SP, JDU and other parties of the alliance also stood together. There was no cross-voting from the side of the opposition alliance 'INDIA'. From the point of view of INDIA coalition, it was an opportunity to build trust, which was done with strength.

From Congress to RJD… with AAP

On the Delhi Service Bill, all the parties involved in the opposition coalition INDIA, supporting Kejriwal, fiercely attacked the BJP. There was fierce tussle between NDA and 'INDIA'. From the Congress side, from Mallikarjun Kharge to Abhishek Manu Singhvi, supporting Kejriwal surrounded the Modi government. Describing the bill as completely unconstitutional, Singhvi said that BJP wants to control Delhi by any means.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also raised questions on the Modi government, while RJD MP Manoj Jha to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Gu) MP Sanjay Raut also targeted the BJP. Criticizing the Modi government, the opposition leaders stood with Kejriwal. This was the reason that despite the bill not being passed, the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party thanked the opposition leaders for supporting them. In such a situation, it is clear that India was traveling for its political purpose.

Water will turn on BJP's plans!

Union Home Minister Amit Shah while replying to the discussion in the Lok Sabha on the Delhi Services Bill took a jibe at the Congress and said that the Aam Aadmi Party is not going to continue with the opposition unity after the Bill is passed. In this way, Shah had raised questions on the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress being together. Now that the bill has been passed by the Parliament, will the Aam Aadmi Party separate itself from the opposition alliance 'INIDA'.

BJP leaders were also making similar predictions, but the way Aam Aadmi Party leaders have thanked the opposition leaders, it is clear that Kejriwal is not going to separate himself from the opposition at the moment. Not only this, the Aam Aadmi Party has also announced to contest elections in Gujarat along with the Congress.

In the INDIA meeting to be held in Mumbai, there will be talks about seat sharing with the allies. In this way, the opposition alliances are trying to keep themselves connected to each other. The parties involved in INDIA have sided with Kejriwal on the Delhi Service Bill, so everyone openly welcomed the reinstatement of Rahul Gandhi's membership and targeted the BJP. In this way, the opposition alliance is missing any chance to show mutual unity.

Will India remain united on no confidence motion?

On the Manipur violence case, opposition parties have brought a no-confidence motion against the Modi government in the Parliament, which will be discussed on Tuesday and after that the decision will be taken by voting. The opposition is behind in the numbers game of the Lok Sabha while the Modi government is in favor. However, the opposition has to litmus its solidarity on this pretext. The way all the parties of INDIA will remain united against the Modi government on the Delhi Service Bill, in the same way will Manipur be united on the issue of no-confidence motion from besieging the Modi government to voting. If the opposition alliance remains united in the Parliament, then the picture of contesting elections together in 2024 will be clear.

NDA vs INDIA contest in 2024

For the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year, 26 opposition parties together have decided to contest against the BJP. The opposition parties have named the alliance as INDIA. Opposition parties like Mamta Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Arvind Kejriwal, Uddhav Thackeray are included in the opposition alliance. While Nitish Kumar has done the work of bringing all these opposition parties on one platform, the Congress is engaged in a campaign to keep them together.

In the Bengaluru meeting, Mallikarjun Kharge has made it clear that the Congress does not aspire for the post of Prime Minister. Congress will not claim the post of PM. Now the meeting of opposition parties will be held in Mumbai, where seat sharing is to be discussed. In this way, the opposition parties are fully focusing on keeping themselves connected. It has to be seen how long the fabric of opposition unity remains.
