Patna. It will now become difficult for those who sell and drink alcohol in Bihar. For this, a special strategy has been prepared at the Bihar Police Headquarters level. Actually, now the police officers will not be able to put any kind of complaint against the liquor business and its users in cold storage. Complaining in cases of alcohol will become very easy. On receiving a complaint on a toll free number sitting at home, the police department will be ready. It will be the responsibility of the SHO to take action within 24 hours of receiving the complaint. If action is not taken on time, then along with the SHO, even the SDPO will come under the purview of action.

In fact, in order to make the prohibition law active in Bihar, any complaint related to liquor can be made on the toll free number 15545. The complaint received on this number will be dealt with immediately. The SHO will get 24 hours to take action. Otherwise, the information will go to the higher authorities. In order to make prohibition more effective, the Prohibition Department has decided to give wide publicity to this toll free number. For this, a board of this toll free number 15545 will be visible on the poles of all transformers. On this toll free number, any person can give any kind of complaint related to prohibition or if he has any suggestion then he can also give it.

Action will be taken at district and police station level

Calls to toll free numbers will remain free. The toll free number of the Prohibition Department will be marked on the government building of all the blocks and zones. This toll free number will also be displayed at Primary Health Centers, Panchayat Bhawans to Anganwadi Centers and Child Development Project Offices. The number of Prohibition Department is already there, but it has been found in the review that there is a lack of awareness about it. In such a situation, an order for its promotion has been issued afresh. According to the officials of the Prohibition Department, the complaints coming on the toll free number will be given for action at the district and police station level.

Officials have to come under the ambit of action

The SHO will have to take action and report on the prohibition of liquor within 24 hours. DSP will take action within 48 hours. If he is also unable to take action, then its information will go to the SP, who will have 3 days to take action. Even after this, if action is not taken, then its information will go to the departmental officers. The concerned officials who do not take action within this time limit will come under the purview of action.
