The Meteorological Department has told that there is a possibility of some relief due to Western Disturbance from Thursday, but before that the cold will increase further. IMD says that different parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and West Madhya Pradesh Due to cold wave in the areas on Sunday, the cold (IMD Alert for Cold Wave) has increased a lot and it will continue for the next 3 days. People are resorting to bonfires at various places to avoid the cold caused by the strong wind.

Mercury can reach below 3 degrees in Delhi

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding the national capital Delhi and has told that the minimum temperature in Delhi can reach below 3 degree Celsius. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of cold wave in Delhi-NCR Weather from 16 to 18 January. The Meteorological Department has predicted the minimum temperature to be around 2 degrees in different areas of Delhi.

Possibility of snowfall in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), on January 17-18, there is a possibility of a drop of about two degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature in the north-western and central regions of India. There is a possibility of cold wave in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi during this period. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of snowfall in some areas of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan between January 16 and 18.

There will be bone-chilling cold in the whole of North India

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding the entire North-West India and has told that from January 16 to January 18, cold wave will wreak havoc in the entire North-West India. During this period, due to the cold wave, the minimum temperature is expected to be 3 to 4 degree Celsius in most of the areas in the coming days. However, due to wind, people have got relief from the fog.

Cold also affects trains, 13 trains running late

Bad weather has also affected the Indian Railways and many trains are running late. Despite the decrease in fog, many trains running from Delhi and coming to Delhi are running late. In this, the Jaynagar-Amritsar clone special is running the most late and the train is running late by 8 bells from its scheduled time. Apart from this, Visakhapatnam-New Delhi Andhra Express is running late by 5.30 hours and Puri-New Delhi by 5 hours. Kamakhya-Delhi and Chennai Delhi Grand Trunk Express is also running late by 3.30 hours.

Yellow alert regarding cold in Rajasthan

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert regarding Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Department, in most parts of the northwest and southeast of Rajasthan, the minimum temperature was recorded between one to three degrees Celsius. In Rajasthan's Mount Abu, the record of 28 years has been broken and the temperature has reached below minus 7 degrees. Fatehpur in Sikar district of Rajasthan recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.7 degrees Celsius. According to data available on the India Meteorological Department's website, Churu district, located near the Thar desert, recorded the lowest temperature of this season at minus 2.5 degrees Celsius.

Severe cold continues in Punjab as well

Severe cold continues in Punjab as well. According to the Meteorological Department, Faridkot in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of minus one degree Celsius. Punjab's Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 1.6 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana recorded 4.9, Patiala 4.2, Pathankot eight, Bathinda one and Gurdaspur 3.7 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh, the union territory and the common capital of Haryana-Punjab, recorded a minimum temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius.

Temperature below zero in most areas of Kashmir

The night temperature was recorded below zero at most places in Kashmir. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday night, which was half a degree less than Friday night. Officials said that the minimum temperature in Kupwara district was minus 1.3 degree Celsius. At the same time, Pahalgam in Anantnag district recorded a minimum temperature of minus 10.9 degrees Celsius, which was five notches less than the previous night. Pahalgam was the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir.
