A miscreant had an encounter with the police in Rajnagar Extension of Ghaziabad on Sunday night, after which firing started from both sides and the police bullet hit the miscreant's leg. The police have admitted the accused to the hospital.
Ghaziabad SP City Nipun Aggarwal said that the police were on checking in Rajnagar Extension at around 10.15 pm on Sunday night. During this, the police saw a suspicious person. The police asked him to stop but he started running away and started firing on the police. In retaliation by the police, the accused got shot in the left leg. The accused has been identified as Santosh Yadav, a resident of Delhi.
He said that a total of 29 cases including murder, theft and other offenses were registered against the accused in Ghaziabad, Noida, Delhi and Haryana. A 315 bore pistol and a stolen scooty were recovered from him. The accused has been admitted to the hospital. Further investigation is being done.
