Lok Sabha Elections: Congress MP and former President Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad, Kerala will file his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections today on April 3. Before this, Rahul Gandhi will hold a road show in the area. It is noteworthy that in the last election, Rahul Gandhi had won a big victory from here with a margin of about 5 lakh votes.

This time the contest from Wayanad is not going to be easy for Rahul Gandhi. Annie Raja, wife of CPI general secretary D Raja, is against Rahul in this election. The party has fielded him as a candidate from Wayanad. BJP state president K Surendran will be in the fray against Rahul from BJP. These three are strong leaders, hence it is believed that there will be a tough competition on this seat. However, Rahul Gandhi is a bigger face than the two and is also the sitting MP from this seat.

Accusation of not working in the field

Surendran, who fielded from BJP, fiercely targeted Rahul Gandhi. He said, it is good that Rahul Gandhi is finally coming to Wayanad to file nomination. He also alleged that no work has been done in the constituency. Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also taken a dig at Rahul Gandhi for contesting elections against Annie Raja of India Bloc party CPI.

Smriti Irani's road show

Smriti Irani's visit is being considered as the beginning of BJP's conch sound against Rahul in Wayanad. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi used to contest elections from Amethi and win. But in 2014, BJP fielded Smriti Irani from Amethi. Although Irani lost this election. But she did not distance herself from Amethi and remained in constant touch with the people of Amethi. Irani's claim in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections was considered strong. Therefore, Rahul Gandhi had also filed nomination from Wayanad in 2019. When the election results came, Irani won from Amethi and Rahul had to face defeat from here. However, Rahul won big in Wayanad and became MP from here.

Voting will be held on this day in Wayanad

Voting is to be held in the second phase in Wayanad. Voting will be held there on 26th April. In the last elections, Rahul Gandhi had contested against CPI's PP Sunir. However, Rahul Gandhi had won here by about 5 lakh votes. This time he is facing BJP's K Surendran. At present he is the President of Kerala BJP. The interesting thing is that he started his politics as the Wayanad District President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. In the last Lok Sabha elections, K Surendran had contested from Pathanamthitta, however he had to face defeat in the elections.
