Delhi Liquor Scam: ED has today called Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the liquor scam case. Also, regarding this matter, CBI has arrested K. Kavita has been called for questioning. Let us tell you that before this, Arvind Kejriwal was to appear before the ED on last Monday i.e. 19 February 2024, but he did not appear. Please note that ED has sent this 7th summons to Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in this case. Let us tell you that ED has already sent 6 summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. On February 19 also, the ED, which is probing money laundering in the alleged liquor scam, had summoned Kejriwal for questioning. ED had also gone to court against Kejriwal for not appearing, the hearing of which case will now be held in the month of March.

Please note that CBI has arrested the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister KCR and BRS leader K. Kavita has been called today in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. This is the second time the central agency has summoned a Telangana politician. Earlier in December, CBI had interrogated him. Let us tell you that the ED alleges that Vijay Nair, an accused in the case, was given a bribe of at least Rs 100 crore by the leaders of the South Group (controlled by Sarath Reddy, Kavitha and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy). It was also alleged that the accused had taken this bribe for the AAP leader.

When has ED sent summons to Arvind Kejriwal?

It is noteworthy that ED had sent the first summons to Kejriwal on 2 November 2023. However, he did not appear on this summons, after which ED sent another summons on 21 December 2023, in this also the Delhi CM did not appear. Then on January 3, 2024, a third summons was sent by ED to Arvind Kejriwal, but he did not appear. After this, the fourth summons was sent on January 17, 2024, but Kejriwal once again remained absent. Once again ED sent the fifth summons on 2 February 2024, but again Kejriwal did not appear. After sending the sixth summons on 14 February, ED had called on 19 February, in which also Kejriwal did not go. Let us tell you that in this case, Manish Sisodia was arrested in February last year and Sanjay Singh was arrested in October immediately after interrogation. Since then, AAP has alleged that ED is similarly busy in arresting Kejriwal also.
