Twisha Sharma Case: Husband Samarth Singh To Surrender In Bhopal After Jabalpur Court Refusal

In the Twisha Sharma death case, husband Samarth Singh attempted to surrender in Jabalpur but was directed to Bhopal. The MP High Court has ordered a second autopsy by AIIMS Delhi and issued a notice to former judge Giribala Singh regarding her bail.

In a significant development in the Twisha Sharma death case, the main accused and husband of the deceased, Samarth Singh, is expected to surrender in Bhopal, while this comes after a series of legal maneuvers in the Madhya Pradesh High Court and the Jabalpur Court. Samarth Singh, who had been absconding for the past 10 days, appeared at the Jabalpur Court to surrender. However, the court directed him to surrender in Bhopal, citing that the case is registered under the jurisdiction of the Bhopal police, while this development follows the withdrawal of his anticipatory bail application by his legal counsel during a hearing in the High Court.

The Legal Battle and Surrender Attempt

During the proceedings at the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Senior Advocate Mrigendra Singh, representing Samarth Singh, informed the bench that his client intended to withdraw the anticipatory bail plea, while the counsel stated that Samarth Singh was prepared to surrender before the trial court. A specific request was made to the court to direct the trial court to decide on the bail application on the same day of the surrender. Despite the attempt to surrender in Jabalpur, the court maintained that since the incident and the subsequent FIR are based in Bhopal, the surrender must take place there. Samarth Singh currently carries a reward of 30000 on his head, and a lookout notice has already been issued against him to prevent any attempt to flee the country.

AIIMS Delhi to Conduct Second Autopsy

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has taken a stern view of the suspicious circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma's death. On Friday, the court issued a crucial directive for a second post-mortem examination. This second autopsy is to be conducted by a specialized team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. This order comes after the victim's family raised concerns regarding the initial findings and the nature of the investigation. Twisha Sharma, a resident of Noida, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her in-laws' residence in Bhopal on the night of 12 May. The second autopsy is expected to provide more clarity on whether the death was a suicide or involved foul play.

Background of Twisha Sharma and Samarth Singh

Twisha Sharma, 33 years old, was a highly educated professional with an MBA degree. Before her marriage, she worked for a private company in Delhi and had a stint in the entertainment industry, having worked in Telugu films and modeling. Her relationship with Samarth Singh began after they met on a dating app. After their initial meeting, the two grew close, and with the consent of both families, they were married in December 2025. However, the marriage, which was supposed to be a new beginning, turned tragic within just 5 months. Following her death on 12 May, Samarth Singh went missing, leading to a 10 day long search by the police before his recent attempt to surrender.

Serious Allegations by the Family

The family of the deceased has leveled grave allegations against Samarth Singh and his mother, Giribala Singh, who is a former judge. They've accused the duo of dowry harassment, as well as consistent mental and physical torture. The family claims that Twisha was subjected to immense pressure during her short-lived marriage. On top of that, the family has raised questions about the conduct of Giribala Singh immediately following the death. They allege that on the day after Twisha's death, Giribala Singh made phone calls to 46 influential individuals. According to the family's claims, these calls included contacts within the judiciary, relatives, and other high-profile acquaintances. The family is now demanding a thorough investigation into these 46 influential calls, suggesting an attempt to influence the case.

Notice to Former Judge Giribala Singh

The legal heat has also intensified for Samarth's mother, Giribala Singh. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a formal notice to the former judge. This notice was issued in response to petitions seeking the cancellation of her anticipatory bail. The court is examining the grounds on which the bail was granted and the allegations of her involvement in the harassment that allegedly led to Twisha's death. With the husband now directed to surrender in Bhopal and the second autopsy ordered at AIIMS Delhi, the case has entered a critical phase where forensic evidence and custodial interrogation are expected to play a vital role in uncovering the truth behind the death of the former model.
