Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP Over Ram Temple Donation Theft, Challenges September Elections

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing them of betraying faith and devotion in the Ram Temple donation case. He challenged the party to hold elections in September and alleged widespread corruption in the administration.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has launched a fierce attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the ruling party of playing with the faith and devotion of the people. Speaking on the controversial Ram Temple donation theft case, Yadav asserted that the truth behind the stolen offerings would eventually be revealed to the public. He stated that the citizens of the country are now determined to remove the BJP from power due to these alleged betrayals of trust and religious sentiments.

Allegations of Corruption and Administrative Failure

During a press conference, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh didn't hold back in his criticism of the current administrative state. He alleged that the BJP is effectively running police stations, where a culture of "hathaili garam police naram" (greasing palms makes the police soft) prevails. According to Yadav, corruption is rampant in tehsils and police stations, where illegal recoveries are being made, and the common man is being denied justice. He further predicted a bleak future for the BJP, stating that the party is destined to lose support on all fronts. "The BJP isn't going to get donations, they aren't going to get offerings, and they're certainly not going to get votes," he remarked. He emphasized that while Lord Ram represents the pinnacle of dignity (Maryada), the BJP has betrayed the Constitution, dignity, faith, and devotion.

Challenge for Early Elections

In a bold move, Akhilesh Yadav challenged the BJP to hold elections as early as September, while he noted that while some were planning for elections in November, his party is ready to face the polls in September itself. He accused the BJP of having theft as a part of their practice and claimed that Lord Ram has exposed them this time. "Lord Ram won't forgive them. If there is a word even beyond dacoity, it should be used for them," Yadav said. He also raised concerns about the lack of accountability regarding secret donations (gupt dan) made to the Ram Temple, stating that no one is providing an account for those funds.

Targeting Infrastructure Projects and PM Modi

The Samajwadi Party leader also took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing failures in major infrastructure projects, while he mentioned that the Bundelkhand project inaugurated by the Prime Minister collapsed, and the Ganga Expressway also had significant deficiencies. Yadav alleged that every program organized by the BJP is centered around corruption. He stated that he's merely fulfilling his responsibility as the opposition in a democracy by highlighting these issues, while he also touched upon the arrest of Champat Rai, who served as the General Secretary of the Trust, and the protests by lawyers, suggesting that the public has made up its mind to oust the current government.

Issues in Ayodhya and Support for the Sikh Community

Reflecting on the situation in Ayodhya, Akhilesh Yadav recalled how poor farmers had to stand in the holy Saryu river to protest against the government taking their land for the airport at low prices. He mentioned that these farmers and traders, who were displaced, belonged to the PDA society and came seeking justice, which was denied by the government. Despite his pleas to compensate the farmers, their voices went unheard, which he cited as the reason for the BJP's defeat in Ayodhya. On top of that, Yadav expressed his commitment to securing justice for the Sikh community, stating that the Samajwadi Party would field Sikh candidates in areas where they've a strong presence to ensure their representation in the elections.
