Gujrat | Before the assembly elections in Gujarat, the BJP has suffered a major setback. Senior party leader and 4-time MLA Jai Narayan Vyas has resigned from the party. Not only this, he has also kept the option of joining Congress or Aam Aadmi Party open. Former Health Minister Vyas said, 'I was upset in BJP. That's why I am resigning from the party. I have kept all options open to myself. I will contest the assembly elections from Sidhpur assembly seat. In the letter of resignation, Jai Narayan Vyas has cited personal reasons as the reason.

A Congress leader has admitted that talks are going on with the party leadership of Jai Narayan Vyas. He says that Jai Narayan Vyas wants ticket from Sidhpur assembly seat and is in touch with the party for this. He said that it has come to the fore in the survey that even now he is the most popular leader from Sidhpur assembly seat. He has contested from here 7 times and won 4 times. However, he lost from this seat in 2017 and was won by Chandaji Thakor of Congress. Now it has to be seen whether he gets a chance from the Congress or whether he joins the Aam Aadmi Party.

Jai Narayan Vyas's stature can be gauged from the fact that after defeating Balwant Singh Rajput of Congress from Sidhpur in 2007, he was made a minister in the Narendra Modi government. He was the Minister of Family Welfare and Health. Aam Aadmi Party sources also say that talks are on with Vyas. If the matter is successful then Vyas can be included in the party. He has also led the Sardar Sarovar Dam project. It is being said that he was not expecting a ticket in the BJP. This is also one of the reasons for leaving the party.
