West Bengal Politics: Home Minister Amit Shah has sought a report from the state's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the continuous riots and bad law and order situation in West Bengal. According to sources, the Bengal BJP president had written a letter to Home Minister Shah. In this letter, he had expressed concern about the continuous targeting of Hindus and minorities in Bengal. After receiving the letter from the Bengal BJP President, the Home Minister has sought a report from CM Mamta Banerjee.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday that she will not let the rioters escape and strict action will be taken against them. Addressing a rally in East Medinipur district, Mamta alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) defamed the name of Lord Ram by inciting violence during the Ram Navami procession.

It is noteworthy that incidents of violence have taken place in Hooghly and Howrah districts during the Ram Navami procession in the last few days. Mamta said, “BJP is behind the violence in Hooghly and Howrah. They brought goons from other states for violence in Bengal, which is not in our culture. “He said,” They are defaming Hinduism by pitting one community against another. But the rioters have no religion, they are just political goons. I appeal to everyone to maintain calm."

Targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Trinamool Congress chief said, “The BJP says that if the party comes to power in Bihar, it will hang the rioters upside down. Then, why is she not doing the same for her goons who are creating trouble in Bengal? The work of virtue begins from home itself.

Shah had recently said at a rally in Bihar's Nawada district that if the BJP government is formed in Bihar in 2025, the rioters would be hanged upside down. In Bihar also there were communal clashes during the festival of Ram Navami. Mamta also targeted the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), alleging that 'Bam' (Left Party) and 'Ram' have joined hands against the Trinamool Congress.
