One Nation One Election: Many types of discussions are taking place regarding the special session of Parliament called from 18th September to 22nd September. For the first time in the last nine and a half years of the Modi government, no official information has been given on the issues of calling a special session. Sources associated with the government say that in the 5-day special session, India's growing stature with G20, the success of Chandrayaan 3 and the beginning of Amrit Kaal will be discussed and the important decisions taken so far by the Modi government will be discussed and the strengthening of its government through them. There may be an intention to display.

Along with this, sources associated with the government say that bills related to some shocking decisions can also be brought in this special session. Sources say that One Nation One Election has been a subject close to PM Modi's heart. PM Modi has expressed his views regarding this from time to time, hence the topic of One Nation One Election cannot be denied in the special session. If this bill comes, then possibly the special session being called in September could be the last session of the 17th Lok Sabha. After this special session, the House can be dissolved and an announcement can be made about going to elections.

There may be a split in opposition unity

Apart from the argument of getting relief from excessive financial burden on the government treasury by holding elections at different times, there could also be a political thought behind implementing this decision of the Central Government that there are many such members in the India Alliance of the present opposition parties. There are parties which contest elections against each other in the states while they are continuously preparing to contest the central elections together on a single platform. If the central government passes a bill like One Nation One Election, then many parties of the current India Alliance will not be seen on one platform, especially in Bengal, the Left parties and Mamata Banerjee will be seen separately in the role of opposition.

Whereas in Kerala, the opposition Congress and Left parties will not be seen together on the same stage, and in Delhi and Punjab, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party will not be seen together. In this way, there will be political division in opposition unity. The special thing is that after the country got independence, in 1952, 1957 and 1962, all the assembly and Lok Sabha elections were held simultaneously, but after that, after political upheavals, elections started being held in different states at different times.

After the coming of the Modi government, the Parliamentary Committee related to the Law Ministry, formed in 2018, in its recommendation has advocated holding simultaneous elections of the Center and the states. Also, in 2022, the Law Commission in its recommendation had also recommended holding simultaneous elections for the states and the Centre. However, the Law Commission had advocated in its report that wide consultation should be done with the political parties of the country before the elections for the states and the center are held together.

Government can also bring women reservation bill

Apart from this, the discussion of bringing another bill is being done by the sources related to the government. Sources say that the women's reservation bill is also a matter of the agenda of the Modi government, so in this special session, the central government can bring a bill regarding this. Women's reservation has been a part of the BJP manifesto for years, PM Modi can try to capitalize on this issue in his favor and this is such an issue that hardly any party can oppose. In the changed environment and circumstances, now parties like RJD and SP will also be seen standing in support of the issue of women's reservation. This one decision can give a huge advantage to the BJP in the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Although the Central Government has not yet given any information on the agenda for the upcoming session of Parliament, but topics like One Nation One Election and Women's Reservation are expected to be on the agenda.
