Gurugram / Cab driver stabbed by foreign woman police detained

Gurugram Crime News: Amidst the ongoing controversy over hijab across the country, a foreign woman wearing a burqa and hijab allegedly stabbed a cab driver in Gurugram, adjoining Delhi, on Tuesday. The injured cab driver has been admitted to the hospital for treatment, where his condition is stated to be out of danger. Police is interrogating the accused woman by taking her into custody. The woman is said to be an Egyptian citizen.

According to the information, a foreign woman wearing a burqa and hijab allegedly stabbed a cab driver standing at the square at Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram around 11 am on Tuesday. After committing the crime, the woman started running away. The injured cab driver followed him. At the same time, when the policemen posted near the chowk got information about the incident, they also reached the spot and overpowered the woman.

During this, the woman also manhandled the policemen. Police has taken the woman to the police station and is interrogating her. At present, the reason for the attack is not yet known.

Raghuraj, a resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, told the police that he drives cabs on rent and ferry passengers from Gurugram to Delhi's Anand Vihar. He was standing waiting for the passengers at Rajiv Chowk on Tuesday morning. During this, a woman wearing a hijab came to him and got the window of the car opened. It is alleged that as soon as the glass was opened, the woman attacked him with a knife. After that the woman started running towards the civil line. The cab driver chased him and after that the police was informed. Police is interrogating the woman by taking her into custody.
