Rajasthan / Curfew extended for two days in Karauli, administration gave permission to open shops for eight hours

Curfew, implemented from April, has been extended till April 12 due to the riots following stone-pelting on a bike rally being taken out on Nav Samvatsar in Karauli city. Internet service in the district will also remain closed till April 12. At the same time, the curfew will be relaxed from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday.

Collector Rajendra Singh Shekhawat said that no untoward incident happened during the curfew. Nevertheless, the precautionary curfew has been extended for two more days i.e. till April 12. Internet will also be banned in the district during this period. However, eight hours relaxation will be given in curfew from Monday. Markets will open from 9 am to 5 pm. People will be able to buy essential items. During this, the movement of two wheeler and four wheeler will be banned. Police will keep a close watch on the situation.

Earlier, curfew was relaxed for four hours in the city on Sunday. All types of shops opened in the market from 9 am to 1 pm. During this, people were seen buying essential items. A large number of police personnel were deployed on the spot. The police was keeping an eye on every movement.

28 arrested, more than 105 banned

So far, a total of 20 FIRs have been registered from both the sides in the case of riots in Karauli. In these, an FIR has been registered on behalf of Karauli Police Station. On the other hand, 19 cases have been registered from the other side. Internet service is banned in the district till April 12. Section 144 is applicable in the entire district except Kaila Devi. So far, 28 people have been arrested by the police in the case. At the same time, two minors have also been sent to the Children's Communication Home. The police have so far detained and arrested more than 105 people.
