New Delhi: Once the infection of Coronavirus occurs, usually we feel that now we have antibodies, we will not get infected again. On the other hand, if both doses of the vaccine are taken, then we become more worried. But today we will tell you about a case where even after getting the vaccine, a woman was caught by the corona virus twice. Even before the vaccine was introduced, he had a corona infection once.

Twice infection even after vaccination

Doctor. Veena Agarwal is the wife of Dr KK Aggarwal. Doctor. KK Aggarwal recently passed away due to corona virus infection. He too had been given both doses of the vaccine. Dr. Veena Agarwal is the first case in the country, who has been infected with the corona virus twice after getting the vaccine.

Differential variants in genome sequencing

It has also been proved by genome sequencing that both the times different variants made them their victims. On April 10 last year during the first wave of the corona virus, Dr. Veena had this infection. However there were no symptoms. When he got the RT PCR test done to travel somewhere, then he came to know that he was infected with Kovid. However, she was completely cured within two days.

In the second and dangerous wave of corona virus, Dr. Veena got infected again in April this year, this time she was also vaccinated, but she had symptoms of abdominal pain and fever. She also recovered from this infection in 15 days, but right after her husband Dr. KK Aggarwal came under the grip of Kovid-19 infection.

Doctor Veena kept treating her thinking that she had already been infected with the corona virus, so now she would not get infected again, but on May 3, she got fever again. Although the doctors were not ready to believe that this is a new infection.

transition from delta variant

Both times between April and May, Dr. Veena had different symptoms of Kovid, so this time genome sequencing of both samples of Doctor Veena was done. It was revealed that in April 2021, he was victimized by the alpha variant, while in May 2021, Dr. KK Aggarwal and Dr. Both Veena Aggarwal got infected by the Delta variant. This time the condition of both was very serious and due to this infection, Dr. KK Aggarwal died.

Unique case of infection within 19 days

Although according to ICMR, a new infection of corona virus is considered only when there is a gap of at least 102 days between the first and second infection, but this case of infection twice within 19 days is completely new and unique in this part of India. The first case is being published in an international journal soon.
